Public Off-Road Parks

Off-Road Parks in GA, TN & NC

Off-road parks offer Jeepers a chance to test their rigs, build skills, and enjoy rugged terrain in a controlled environment. From rock gardens and creek crossings to scenic ridge trails, these parks provide dedicated spaces for adventure at every experience level.  


Georgia Off-Road Parks


5313 Off-Road Park — Calhoun

  • From Atlanta: I-75 N to Exit 312 → GA-53 E. 
  • Description: 112 acres, ~10 miles of trails. Mud pits, hills, play areas. 
  • Vehicles: Jeeps/trucks, ATVs, UTVs, dirt bikes. 
  • Difficulty: Easy to difficult, weather-dependent. 
  • Season: Weekends, year-round. 
  • Permits/Fees: ~$15/adult; kids free. 
  • Amenities: Parking, pavilion, porta-potties; Buc-ee’s nearby. 


Iron Mountain Resort — Dahlonega

  • From Atlanta: GA-400 → Dahlonega → GA-52 E. 
  • Description: 4,300 acres, 150+ miles of trails; mud, rocks, hill climbs. 
  • Vehicles: Jeeps, trucks, ATVs, UTVs, dirt bikes; rentals available. 
  • Difficulty: All levels, marked trails. 
  • Season: Year-round; night riding on weekends/events. 
  • Permits/Fees: ~$40/day per 4x4; passengers extra. 
  • Amenities: Cabins, RV/tent camping, bathhouses, grille/bar, pro shop. 


 J19 Adventure Park — Talking Rock

  • From Atlanta: I-75 N to Exit 285 → GA-53 W toward Talking Rock → follow signs to the park (Coords: 34°30′27.4″ N, 84°30′01.1″ W).
  • Description: 300+ acres of wooded and creek-side terrain featuring trails, swimming holes and future expansion of off-road zones.
  • Vehicles: Jeeps/trucks, UTVs/SxS, ATVs.
  • Difficulty: Easy to moderate; mostly trail riding with creek crossing and mixed terrain.
  • Season: Year-round; appointment/booking advised.
    Permits/Fees: Weekend/Two-Day Pass ~$40; Monthly Membership ~$70; Yearly Membership ~$700.
  • Amenities: Primitive camping, creek swimming holes, trail network, map downloads available. 


Carolina Crawlers Off-Road Adventure Park — Young Harris

  • From Atlanta: GA-400 N → US-19/129 N toward Young Harris; drive to 117 Bailey Mountain (Young Harris, GA 30582). 
  • Description: Family-friendly mountain property offering a mix of mild to wild trails for off-road vehicles, including rock features and wooded terrain.
  • Vehicles: Jeeps/trucks, UTVs, ATVs.
  • Difficulty: Easy to technical – from beginner loops to serious crawl zones.
  • Season: Year-round; check weather and trail conditions.
  • Permits/Fees: Contact park for current pricing (day-pass rates available).
  • Amenities: On-site camping, basic facilities, friendly guide-staff, rentals available for beginners. 


RiverRock ORV — Milledgeville


  • From Atlanta: I-75 S → US-441 S toward Milledgeville → Exit onto Pebble Hill Road.
  • Description: Off-road park featuring varied trails and rock crawling sectors on roughly unknown acreage, touted as a “hidden ORV paradise” south of Atlanta. 
  • Vehicles: Jeeps/trucks, ATVs, UTVs.
  • Difficulty: Easy to very difficult; includes named rock/crawl zones and muddy climbs.
  • Season: Weekends and special event rides (call ahead for deposit/availability). 
  • Permits/Fees: Day-use rates available (contact park for current pricing). 
  • Amenities: On-site camping and basic facilities; club/special-event friendly; located at 298 B Pebble Hill Road. 



Alabama Off-Road Parks


Hawk Pride Mountain Off-Road — Russellville, AL

  • From Atlanta: I-20 W → US-43 S → Hawk Pride Mountain Rd.
  • Description: 1,000+ acres with 120+ mapped trails, strong emphasis on rock crawling.
  • Vehicles: Jeeps/trucks and UTVs; ATVs/dirt bikes limited in some areas.
  • Difficulty: Moderate to very difficult — built for crawlers.
  • Season: Year-round; caution after heavy rain.
  • Permits/Fees: ~$25–$30/day per person; weekend passes available.
  • Amenities: Primitive camping, RV hookups, shower house, pavilion.


Tennessee Off-Road Parks


Adventure Off Road Park — South Pittsburg, TN

  • Location / Access: South Pittsburg, Tennessee (southern middle TN, not too far from Chattanooga area)  
  • Description: ~500-acre park with rock terrain, hills, wooded trails. Good mix for all skill levels.  
  • Vehicles: Jeeps, trucks, ATVs, UTVs, dirt bikes.  
  • Difficulty: Ranges from mild to challenging (rock sections, steep grades). 
  • Season / Access: Year-round (depending on conditions) 
  • Fees / Permits: ~$20 per rider / entry (for off-road users)  
  • Amenities: The park itself handles off-road use; expect parking, basic staging, maybe restrooms. (Not a major resort) 


Windrock Park — Oliver Springs, TN

  • Location / Access: Near Knoxville, Tennessee (Oliver Springs area) 
  • Description: ~73,000 acres of off-road trails, multiple levels, terrain variety (rocks, mud, woods). 
  • Vehicles: Jeeps, trucks, ATVs, UTVs, full off-road rigs.  
  • Difficulty: All levels — from easy forest roads to extreme rock/mud routes.  
  • Season / Access: Open year-round; weather may affect some trails.  
  • Fees / Permits: Park admission / trail use fees. (Check the site) 
  • Amenities: Full campground, general store, staging areas, infrastructure.
     

North Carolina Off-Road Parks


Lake Houser Adventures Off-Road Park — Mooresboro, NC

  • From Atlanta: I-85 N → US-74 E toward Mooresboro.
  • Description: 600+ acres of wooded trails, open hill climbs, creek crossings.
  • Vehicles: Jeeps/trucks, UTVs, ATVs.
  • Difficulty: Easy to moderate; some technical climbs.
  • Season: Weekends; check schedule for openings/closures.
  • Permits/Fees: ~$20–$25/day per driver; passengers typically free
  • Amenities: Primitive camping, picnic areas, basic facilities on-site.
